Recognition Of Its Value Is Growing

A recent survey of health system leaders explored their understanding and use of artificial intelligence (AI) to help address rising administrative expenses – estimated to cost the U.S. healthcare system over $1 trillion.

The survey, conducted in partnership with Sage Growth Partners, found that executives’ understanding of AI is growing, and that those familiar with AI are twice as likely to understand its potential to exponentially improve efficiency and solve critical workflow problems.

The 115 survey respondents include key decision makers or influencers in tech purchases, including CFOs and CIOs, as well as HR, Supply Chain and Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) leaders.

Improving quality of care ranked as the top priority for 30% of respondents, followed by improving patient satisfaction (21%) and improving efficiency (20%).

AI Adoption Poised For Rapid Growth

The focus on improving efficiency and reducing costs fuels momentum for AI adoption and positions the category for rapid growth.

While only 50% of respondents are familiar with AI today, those who are familiar are nearly twice as likely to purchase AI in the next three years as those who aren’t familiar.
